Siquijor: The Enchanted Island That'll Make You Never Want to Leave

White sand, waterfalls, vibes, and the best iced lattes you'll sip barefoot — here's why Siquijor should be your next Philippine island getaway.

It took me 10 years to visit Siquijor again, one of those islands that should be on your Philippine bucket list. This place is really something else. If you've been scrolling through Philippines travel inspo and wondering which hidden gem to visit next, the answer is Siquijor. No debate.

It's small, it's magical (literally — locals say it's an enchanted island 👀), and once you rent a scooter and start exploring, you'll understand why people who come here end up extending their stays. More on that in a bit.

Beaches you'll never stop talking about

Siquijor's beaches are the kind that make you put your phone down — and that says a lot.

Salagdoong Beach - Crystal-clear water, cliff diving platforms, and a super chill vibe. Perfect for a full beach day. One of the most Instagrammable spots in Siquijor.

Paliton Beach - The sunset here is genuinely unreal. Quiet, uncrowded, and surrounded by mangroves. Arrive before 5PM and just… sit there.

Tubod Marine Sanctuary - Bring your snorkel gear. The marine life is stunning — sea turtles, coral gardens, the works. One of the best snorkeling spots in the Philippines.

Waterfalls worth chasing

The interior of Siquijor is lush and green — and hiding some seriously gorgeous waterfalls.

Cambugahay Falls - The #1 waterfall in Siquijor, and honestly one of the best falls in the Visayas. Multi-tiered, turquoise-blue water, and you can swing on a rope right into it. YES.

Lugnason Falls - Smaller, quieter, and feels like a secret. If you want somewhere away from the crowd, this is it. Great for a refreshing dip.

Lagaan Falls - A bit of a hike to get here, but 100% worth it. You'll feel like you found your own slice of paradise.

Scooter life is the only way to explore

Forget tour vans. The best way to experience Siquijor is on a scooter — windows down (well, no windows), wind in your face, stopping wherever looks good. You can circle the entire island in a day! Rent one for around ₱400–₱500/day and just go. No itinerary needed. That's the whole vibe.

💡Quick tip before you book

The best time to visit Siquijor is November to April — dry season, clear skies, and calm seas perfect for island hopping. Avoid June to October if you can, as the rainy season hits hard. Also, book your accommodations early especially during Holy Week — it fills up fast!

It's one of those rare underrated Philippine destinations that still feels raw, real, and unhurried. No massive resorts swallowing the shoreline, no aggressive tourist crowds — just good beaches, cold drinks, and people who actually enjoy being alive.

If this is on your Philippines travel bucket list — bump it to the top. You won't regret it. 🌊
