Things to Do in Al Ain: Day Trip from Dubai
Al Ain, often called the “Garden City” of the UAE, is one of the best destinations for a day trip from Dubai. Located near the Oman border, Al Ain offers a mix of history, culture, and nature that makes it different from the busy cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This trip was extra special because it was my first long drive as a licensed driver, and exploring Al Ain made it a memorable road trip.
A Quick History of Al Ain
Al Ain is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the UAE.
Historically, it was an important hub for trade and agriculture.
The city’s culture reflects both Emirati and Omani traditions.
Forts, archaeological sites, and traditional markets preserve its rich history.
My First Long Drive to Al Ain
Driving from Dubai, I watched the desert slowly turn into greenery, which is why Al Ain is called the Garden City. For anyone planning a UAE road trip, the route is scenic and easy to navigate.
